What is a METAPHOR?

This is the question that was posed to Room 6 this week.  There were a few blank faces and it was really hard coming up with an answer...

Are they the same as similes?

Short answer: NO.
Long answer:  But you're close.

Kawa of Care

This week with Vicki we talked about the kawa of care for our chrome books.  We talked and learnt about how we can best look after our chrome books and how we can encourage others to also do this.  We then created some comic strips demonstrating our learning.  And here, we share some of our creations.

Every Thursday morning, we head over to the hall and are greeted by a smiling Fran and her entourage of musical instruments.  This term we are learning to play 'Shotgun" by George Ezra.  It's very noisy - but a whole lot of fun!

Lots of activity this week at Waitohu School

We are lucky enough each week to have some Year 13 students from Otaki College come and take our senior kids for some sport and fun.  Last week it was a games focus and this week it was all about ball skills!

Kupa

The duathlon was a lot of fun on Thursday, with great attitudes and speedy legs on display.  All of Room 6's training paid off.  Well done team!

Lots of great learning has been going on in Room 6.  We are currently taking part in Chapter Chat as part of our reading and we are reading WONDER, which is a wonderful book encouraging the kids to think about accepting difference and being kind. Great messages all round!

We are Room 6! We are made up of 29 awesome kids, 1 amazing teacher aide (Glenys) and 2 pretty cool teachers (Miss P and Mrs Matt).
